- Follow the way marked path, uphill through Drumclog Moor and enter Murdock Wood.
- Walk straight on to where the Way passes through a stone wall onto a minor road. A finger post indicates the direction to follow.
- Cross the minor road heading to your left, the continuation of the path is marked by a Way Marker in the verge on the left of the road and large boulders on the right. This area goes by the name of The Khyber Pass.
- Continue past Craigallian Loch on your right and then Carbeth Loch on your left. The Way meets the B821 shortly after passing the Carbeth Loch.
- Refreshments and toilets are available in Blanefield, which is reached by turning right where the Way meets the B821. The village is 1.75km to the east of the route.
